questions

Variocook is a modular premium cooking system that allows you to create your ideal cooking setup. You can choose from powerful gas burners, modern induction modules, or a combination of both. This way, you create a cooking setup that matches your kitchen, cooking style, and personal preferences.

Variocook products are developed according to our own technical and quality specifications and manufactured by carefully selected specialized manufacturers. Each module is checked for performance, safety, finish, and reliability before delivery.

With a standard hob, the number of zones and their position are fixed. With Variocook, you decide which modules you use, how many modules you need, and where they are placed in the countertop. This creates a personalized and flexible cooking setup.

Yes. Variocook has been developed for intensive daily use and combines professional cooking performance with a high-quality finish and ease of use.

Variocook is designed for people who seek more freedom, design, and performance than a traditional hob offers. The system is suitable for luxury private kitchens, kitchen projects, and enthusiastic home cooks who want to assemble their cooking area entirely to their liking.

Yes. Variocook has a modular design. You choose the number of modules, the type of burners or induction zones, and their desired position in the countertop. Naturally, the setup must comply with the technical installation requirements.

Yes. Gas burners and induction modules can be combined within one cooking setup. This allows you to cook with induction, for example, and at the same time use a powerful gas or wok burner.

Variocook offers various burner types, including a wok burner, rapid burner, and semi-rapid burner. Each burner has its own power and application, allowing you to tailor the setup to your cooking style.

Variocook offers multiple induction models with different numbers of cooking zones, dimensions, and control options. The best choice depends on your available space, desired power, and cooking style.

Within the technical guidelines, a lot of freedom is possible. The final position is determined by the dimensions of the worktop, the minimum mutual distances, the support, and the available gas and electricity connections.

That is possible in some situations, but depends on the existing cut-outs, technical connections, and available space. We recommend considering expansion options during the kitchen design phase.

Yes. A VarioCook can be built into a kitchen island, provided the island has sufficient space, ventilation, support and the correct technical connections.

Variocook can be integrated into various worktop materials, including natural stone, ceramic, composite, and stainless steel. Not every material, thickness, or construction is automatically suitable.

The worktop manufacturer and kitchen supplier must assess in advance whether the chosen worktop is suitable for the desired Variocook setup, the necessary cut-outs, and the thermal load that may arise during cooking.

The worktop manufacturer, kitchen supplier and installer are responsible for:

  • selecting a suitable worktop material;
  • the correct thickness and construction;
  • correct cut-outs and finishes;
  • sufficient support for the worktop;
  • correct bonding and assembly;
  • preventing tension in the material;
  • complying with the technical installation instructions.

Variocook is the manufacturer and supplier of the cooking modules and does not assess the full structural suitability of each individual worktop.

No. Variocook's warranty exclusively covers the Variocook products supplied and does not cover the worktop, the kitchen construction, or their installation.

Variocook does not provide a warranty for cracks, breakage, fissures, discolouration, deformation, detachment, thermal damage, or other damage to the worktop.

This applies, among other things, to damage that may arise from:

  • tension in natural stone, ceramic, or composite;
  • material defects or natural properties of the worktop;
  • incorrectly executed cut-outs;
  • sharp corners or insufficiently rounded cut-outs;
  • insufficient support;
  • incorrect bonding or installation;
  • movement or subsidence of the kitchen construction;
  • incorrect transport or processing of the worktop;
  • thermal stress or temperature differences;
  • placing hot pans or cookware on the worktop;
  • a combination of the above circumstances.

Only when there is demonstrable evidence of a defect in a Variocook product itself will it be assessed whether this falls under the product warranty.

During cooking, the cookware, burners, and areas around the cooking zone can become hot. The countertop must be resistant to the heat and temperature differences that can occur during normal cooking.

It is the responsibility of the countertop manufacturer and kitchen supplier to choose a material and construction that are suitable for this. Damage caused by thermal stress, material properties, or incorrect countertop construction is not covered by Variocook's warranty.

The cutouts must be made by a professional countertop manufacturer or fabricator, based on Variocook's current technical drawings.

The countertop manufacturer remains responsible for the execution of the cutouts, the radius of the corners, the remaining material strength, the distances between them, and the necessary support.

Yes. Technical drawings and dimensions are available for the modules. This information serves as a starting point for the kitchen supplier, worktop manufacturer, and installer.

The drawings do not replace the technical assessment of the worktop by the worktop manufacturer.

Variocook can have the installation carried out or organised by an accredited installer or specialised kitchen partner, depending on the country and location.

We recommend having Variocook always installed by a professional. Gas and electrical connections must comply with applicable laws and regulations and local installation requirements.

Yes. Gas installations must be carried out and inspected by a competent or certified installer in accordance with applicable local regulations.

This varies depending on the induction model and configuration. The required connection power is stated in the technical documentation. An electrician must check in advance whether the electrical installation is suitable.

Sufficient ventilation space must be provided for induction modules. The air supply and heat dissipation must not be blocked. The exact requirements are stated in the installation manual.

That is often possible, but depends on the existing worktop, the available space, the construction of the cabinet, and the existing gas and electricity connections. A technical assessment must be carried out beforehand to determine whether all installation conditions can be met.

The installer is responsible for the correct and safe connection of the Variocook modules. The kitchen supplier and worktop manufacturer are responsible for the kitchen construction, the worktop, the cutouts and the support.

Incorrect installation can lead to malfunctions, damage, or unsafe situations. Damage resulting from incorrect installation or failure to follow the installation instructions is not covered by the product warranty.

Operation varies per module. Gas burners are operated with the corresponding control knob. Induction modules have their own electronic controls. The precise operation is described in the user manual.

Each burner is designed for a specific cooking application. The wok burner delivers high power for fast and intense cooking. The rapid and semi-rapid burners are suitable for frying, boiling, and controlled simmering.

Almost all heat-resistant pans can be used on gas. For induction, pans with a magnetic and flat bottom are required. You can easily test this with a magnet.

When cooking, parts of the worktop around the burners can get hot. This depends on the type of pan, the cooking time, the power, and the worktop material.

Do not leave an empty pan on high power for a long time and do not place hot pans directly on parts of the worktop that are not suitable for this.

That depends on the countertop material. We always advise using a heat-resistant trivet. Variocook is not responsible for damage to the countertop caused by hot pans or cookware.

Clean the modules with a soft cloth, warm water, and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Do not use harsh chemicals, steel wool, scouring pads, or sharp objects.

Yes. With the gas modules, various parts, such as the pan supports and burner components, can be removed. Ensure that all parts are completely dry and correctly reinstalled before reusing the burner.

Not all parts are dishwasher-safe. Always consult the user manual for this. Aggressive dishwashing detergents may cause discolouration or damage.

Only use suitable cleaning agents, prevent heavy objects from falling onto the modules, and do not slide pans or metal objects over sensitive surfaces.

Normal use requires limited maintenance. Gas burners and ignition components must be kept clean. In case of malfunctions or irregular operation, we recommend inspection by a professional.

First, check that the gas or power supply is available and consult the user manual. If the problem persists, please contact Variocook or the supplier from whom the system was purchased.

Because Variocook is modular, a separate module can often be inspected, repaired or replaced without replacing the entire cooking setup.

Yes. Spare parts and replacement components are available for Variocook products, depending on the model and production date.

Depending on the country and location, service can be arranged via a local installer or service partner.

Contact the supplier from whom you purchased the product or directly contact Variocook. Please provide the model, serial number, proof of purchase, and a clear description of the problem.

Variocook products are covered by the warranty period stated in the warranty conditions and purchase documentation.

The warranty covers demonstrable material and manufacturing defects in the Variocook product under normal use.

The following situations, among others, are not covered by the product warranty:

  • incorrect or unprofessional installation;
  • failure to follow the user or installation manual;
  • damage due to misuse;
  • damage due to external causes;
  • damage due to insufficient maintenance;
  • damage due to incorrect cleaning agents;
  • normal wear and tear;
  • transport damage after delivery;
  • damage to the worktop or kitchen structure;
  • cracks, fissures, or breakage of natural stone, ceramic, or composite;
  • damage due to thermal stress or temperature differences;
  • damage due to incorrect cut-outs or insufficient support;
  • damage due to alterations or repairs by unauthorized third parties.

No. The countertop is not part of the Variocook product and is therefore not covered by the Variocook product warranty.

Complaints about cracks, breakage, discolouration, deformation or other damage to the countertop must be assessed by the kitchen supplier, countertop manufacturer, and installer.

For a warranty claim, we may ask for:

  • proof of purchase;
  • the model and serial number;
  • photos and videos of the problem;
  • installer details;
  • proof that the product was installed according to instructions;
  • technical information about the worktop and kitchen construction;
  • additional information needed to assess the cause.

A warranty claim does not automatically mean that the complaint is covered by the warranty. Each report is technically assessed individually.

You can order a Variocook system via our webshop, an affiliated kitchen partner or directly with the support of a Variocook advisor.

Yes. We can advise on the number of modules, positioning, power, and technical preparation. The final worksurface and installation assessment remain the responsibility of the relevant trades.

The information in these FAQs is general and does not replace Variocook's technical installation manual, user manual, warranty conditions, or terms of sale.

The current technical documentation must be checked by the kitchen supplier, worktop manufacturer, and installer before worktop production and before installation.

Variocook is not responsible for damage resulting from incorrect material selection, incorrect worktop processing, insufficient support, faulty assembly, incorrect installation, thermal stress, misuse, or failure to comply with technical regulations.
